With the right tool, anyone can sharpen their knives themselves. For this purpose, Zwilling offers various sharpening steels that will bring your knife gently and reliably back to their former glory.
The Zwilling sharpening steel with an oval plastic handle will bring your knife back to its former sharpness. With its blade made of highly carbonized and hard chrome-plated steel, this 31 cm sharpening steel is recommended for sharpening all your knives. The oval black plastic handle is comfortable to hold and won’t slip. This contributes to the ease of use of the sharpening steel. With a hardness of approximately 62 HRC, these sharpening steels are relatively insensitive to damage. After you sharpen the blades on the Zwilling sharpening steel, your knives are ready for any cutting jobs. This product helps you to hone your knives and is a useful tool which will complete your kitchen equipment.
For most home chefs the sharpening steel will realign the edge and remove any niche or burr. An oval rod provides more surface contact with the edge to achieve same results as traditional rod but with fewer strokes.
